Public Transport Tickets
Public transport tickets in the region around Leipzig (https://www.mdv.de/mdv-local-public-transport-in-central-germany/) can be bought via the app MOOVME (https://www.moovme.de/). It's available for Android and iPhone. Typically, there is also a ticket machine at tram and train stations.
Getting there
- by tram
From the city center, take tram lines no. 3 (direction: Taucha) or 3E (direction: Sommerfeld). Exit at stop Permoser/Torgauer Straße, cross Torgauer Straße and follow Permoserstraße until, after about 5 min walk, you find the main entrance of the Science Park on the left side. For instance, if you start at Leipzig Hauptbahnhof (main railway station), trams no. 3 and 3E leave on track 2 of the tram station in front of the main railway station. Stop Permoser/Torgauer Straße is the 7th stop and it is reached after about 12 min.
Further public transport (not accessible from the city centre): Bus lines 77 and 90 stop at stop Leonhard-Frank-Straße, which is right next to the main entrance of the Science Park.
Within Leipzig (zone 110), you need an Einzelfahrkarte (single ticket). It's 3,20 € and valid for one hour. You are allowed to change buses and trams within zone 110. - by train
Get off at Leipzig Hauptbahnhof (main railway station) and follow the signs to the tram station directly in front of main railway station. Go to track 2 and follow the instructions given above under 'by tram'.
Some train tickets may include public transport inside Leipzig. If not, you need a single ticket (zone 110). - by plane
If you arrive at Flughafen Leipzig/Halle (Airport Leipzig/Halle, LEJ), follow the signs to the airport train station. Take a train to Leipzig, which typically runs on track 1, and get off at Leipzig Hauptbahnhof (main railway station). Then follow the instructions given above under 'by tram'.
If you take a suburban train no. S 5 or S 5X, you need a single ticket for zones 110, 162, and 163. Just choose Leipzig Hauptbahnhof as destination in the ticket machine. The ticket is 5,80 €. It is valid for 2 h and you can change buses and trams. Hence, you need no further ticket for the tram to the conference location (zone 110).
Other trains (EC, IC, ICE) have a higher fair and you might need an additional single ticket in order to use the tram from main railway station to the conference location.
If you prefer a taxi, you find them directly in front of the arrival area. The fair to the conference location is about 60 €. - by car
Leave motorway A14 at exit Leipzig-Ost (exit no. 26) and follow the Bundestraße B6 (federal road no. 6) in the direction to Leipzig Zentrum (Leipzig city centre). This road will become Permoserstraße when entering Leipzig and leads you directly to the conference location. You reach the main entrace of the Science Park after about 5 km on the right side. The entrance to the underground car parking is about 200 m before the main entrance on the right side. It is marked by a blue P(arking)-sign (see image).
